IT'S A BOY!

A sweet, tiny little boy who I know someday will be running around our house a million miles an hour, falling down, scraping his knees, getting gross goob everywhere, pretending to be Tom Brady (Jacques can only hope!), cuddling with his mommy (because he WILL be a momma's boy), saying funny/naughty things that I'll try not to laugh at but will write down so we never forget, putting on crazy outfits (like snowboots, undies, and oven mitts) and insisting on wearing them in public..........and the list could go on.
I'm so excited! A boy is what I had my heart set on at first, but after a couple months I decided I was totally okay with either a boy or a girl. Jacques wanted a girl, but when we found out it was a boy ("Yep - those are definitely little boy parts!"), the look on his face let the world know he was totally okay with a boy.
We've pretty much come to a decision on the name....at least it's the one we keep coming back to, but people that we've told just call him by that, so I think it's stuck. For now, I'll say it's the name of a singer of a band we like, BUT not on purpose.... we just both realized that name was this certain guy's name, which is definitely okay because he's a good guy, a brilliant guy, a very talented guy....just not the most handsome guy haha. A song by that band came on this morning on my shuffle while I was driving to work, and the baby started kicking me right then, which I knew wasn't because of that song but I pretended it was because it was cute and made me laugh.
Jacques is amazing with me being pregnant - I was worried he might be weirded out or something, but he says he loves my pregnant body and he's incredibly sweet and nice to me (not that he's not normally, just an extra lot now). Yesterday I was in the bathroom getting ready, and he came in and kissed me, then kissed my tummy... I'm excited to share this amazing adventure with him, because I know he'll be a good dad.

The suspense is killing me...

I want to know NOW!

I wish I would be able to tell everyone what we were having tomorrow when we spend time with our families - that would be the perfect time.

Gahh, I guess I'll keep being patient for 4 1/2 more days...

November 30th can't come soon enough!

Why, you ask?
The reason that November 30th needs to be here right this minute is because we find out what our baby is! (No, not if it's an otter or the spawn of Satan - if it's a boy or a girl!)
I'm so excited and anxious to find out I feel like I'm going to burst.

I love this teeny tiny person inside me, even though they ALWAYS kick me right at dinner time and make me not feel so swell.
I love that I can feel its strong TINY feet kicking me, and can feel it moving around often.
I love that I can tell just how tiny its feet are when it kicks me.
I love that Jacques loves my pregnant body and brings me water when I puke.
I love that my morning sickness is gooooone, and I just get the occasional weird "I think I might puke" moments, but I don't actually end up doing it.
I love my little belly, but I sure do miss my normal clothes. I feel so....unfashionable (?) now.
I love that Kiwi puts her paw on my tummy, or rests her head on it like she's protecting the babe - she knows something sweet and tiny is in there.
I love Jacques most of all - I'm so excited for our little family-to-come.
He's the best friend anyone could ask for, even though he makes me play the air bass in front of people because he says "It's so cute, and I like the little smile you get when you do it, and how you shrug your shoulder up too!". I guess I can forgive him for basically mocking me because he really just thinks it's cute. <3

Baby Garcia

I finally got to "meet" my baby yesterday, along with my awesome, sweet doctor!
When she did the ultrasound, the baby was wiggling around like crazy - stretching its legs, waving its arms, and dancing around. It also kept putting its hands by it's face, and there's one picture where it looks like it's sucking its thumb. This picture is by far my favorite because it looks like its hand is waving, and you can see the facial features really well....it has a cute little pointy nose, and I told Jacques it's already got his big lips. It's all so much more real now that I've seen my baby and I know it's okay, moving around, is healthy, and has a strong heartbeat. The doctor said that I'm as far along as I thought I was, so I'll be 13 weeks on Sunday.

I'm so in love with this little person already. <3

Baby!

Tomorrow is my first appointment with my doctor!
I'm so excited to meet her (a couple people at work go to her, too, and say she's incredible!), and I can't wait to hear my little bean's heartbeat. I know I'm going to cry. Hell, just thinking about it today has made me get all choked up.
I'm bummed that Jacques won't be able to come (he got the mother effing H1N1), and bummed I've basically got to stay away from home/him as much as possible the next couple days.

I hope everything is going well with the baby. I know this whole thing will be so much more real once I've heard its heartbeat and (I'm hoping) an ultrasound.

"Vacation"

I'm done posting bummed out entries - I think I was just having a bad week last week and had to get it out.

Denver was fun, but probably THE coldest I've EVER been in my entire life. We had to sit out in the cold for the football game, which was not completely awful but then we went straight from the football game to the baseball game, and that was miserable. It had gotten a lot colder in those few hours and we'd already sat in the cold all day long, so we were already bummed and freezing.

Here's a preview of our pictures... you can tell how bundled up we were. I put even more on after this, too! I'll put more up later, when I don't feel so cruddy.

Millstone

I used to be such a burning example, I used to be so original.
I used to care, I was being cared for.
Made sure I showed it to those that I love.
I used to sleep without a single stir,
'Cause I was about my father's work.

Well take me out tonight,
This ship of fools I'm on will sink.
I'm my own stone around my neck,
{If you'd} be my breath, there's nothing I wouldn't give.

I used to pray like God was listening.
I used to make my parents proud.
I was the glue that kept my friends together,
Now they don't talk and we don't go out.
I used to know the name of every person I'd kissed.
Now I've made this bed and I can't fall asleep in it.

Well take me out tonight,
This ship of fools I'm on will sink.
I'm my own stone around my neck,
{If you'd} be my breath, there's nothing I wouldn't give.

Throw me that lifeline,
This ship of fools I'm on will sink.
I'm my own stone around my neck
{If you'd} be my breath, there's nothing I wouldn't give.

"They never hit their brakes..."
"There was no time to see..."
"He just ran out in the street..."
"Does anybody know his name?"
"I think I recognize him..."
"He sure as hell paid for that mistake..."

Woah.

So take me out tonight.
This ship of fools I'm on will sink.
I'm my own stone around my neck.
{If you'd} be my breath, there's nothing I wouldn't give.
Well save my life tonight.
This ship of fools I'm on will sink
I'm my own stone around my neck
{If you'd} be my breath, there's nothing I wouldn't give.

...

A hurricane, a tornado, a forest fire, a falling piano out of a window - wherever she goes, pure disaster surely follows...

This week...

We & the Kilpatricks are leaving for Denver at the end of this week for:

Patriots game

Rockies game
Tailgating, shopping, good food, hopefully hanging out with Jacques' family, and whatever else we decide to do while we're there.
I'm starting to get sick again (need to take a crapload more ginger pills, I guess), so I'm really hoping the plane ride is ok. Traveling and pregnancy are not such a fun combination. I'm really excited for our trip, though.
!!! Also, more good news coming soon... (I need to take a picture first)

Pumpkin

This is going to find a way into my bathrooms very soon.

I would LOVE to try this pumpkin pie scented bath...stuff.
Though, I'd probably be way too tempted to lick myself or something!

Sept. 30, 48 degrees?

Ahem - this isn't autumn. How dare you try and sneak in before you're supposed to, winter.

October Festivities

Nikki & I have put together our "Ghoul's Night Out", which is really just a group of our awesome girly friends and us heading out to Witches Night Out at Gardner Village. I went last year with my sister-in-law, my niece Jasmine and her friend Paige, and my beloved little nephew Noah, along with my mother-in-law and it was a blast! There were tons of people dancing in the middle at one point, and Noah went over and started dancing all crazy, and all those witches just loved him! Along with the super fun festivities, there were, of course, the shops at Gardner Village. Even though they were packed, I found a few things that I fell in love with, namely my gorgeous cameo locket. I love it almost as much as I love the cameo that was my great-grandma's. I'm super excited for that, and I'm actually going to dress up a little more this year.

Along with planning our Ghoul's Night Out Ali, Nikki, & I have been (for lack of a better term, and because it's funny?) balls deep in planning our Halloween party - The Monster Mash. We've got tons of cute/spooky decorating ideas, yummy/grotesque food ideas, and our costumes are going to rule. My costume is so easy, but is going to be so pretty. AND, my baby bump will be bigger then, and that will make my costume even cuter haha.

We've also got plans to go see The Phantom of the Opera (the original silent version, of course) at the Organ Loft, and to have both a funny/scary Halloween movie marathon. It's become our tradition to go see Phantom and then go to Vegi House, and also to go see Nosferatu but this year they said it's going to be in 3-D, which I'm not so sure about. I love Nosferatu, and it's THE classic vampire movie, but this 3-D gimmick is maybe just getting a bit too far...

On a Sally note: we finally got her little pawprint thing from the vet. It only took like 8-9 weeks... It's so cute, and it makes me really happy to see, because they used her paw that had one crooked nail, and the second I saw it I knew which one it was, and was so glad they'd used the paw with "quirk". It's just one of those little ceramic circle things that are glossy, but it's got her paw print in pink, her name in pink, and then cute pink ribbons at the top. We decided to go with the pink since she was our "little girl". Seeing that little bit of her makes me happier than I've been about her being gone, so I'm glad we have it now. I'll take a picture of it when I remember and post it. :)

I'm super stoked for everything this month!

May I just say:

I love my daddy-o. Just thinking about him makes me happy.

And he loves you...

...yeah he loves you, and the two of you will soon become three.

After meeting Anne's sweet little boy Otis for the first time today, it's got me extra excited for this little bump of mine (not like I've never not been excited, it's just hard when you're so sick sometimes). I love that our extra, empty bedroom is going to be someone's in the Spring. I can't wait to decorate it! I want to start crocheting a blanket, since it's been a long time since I've crocheted anything and I miss it.

Dear Best Friend

I love you.
(That means you, Nikki - in case you had any doubt.)

Sally

It hit me today how much I've been missing you lately. I miss you so much today it's all I can do not to cry every time I think about you. You were the sweetest little best friend anyone could ask for. You always knew the right things to do to comfort me or make me laugh. You were the perfect cuddler, and anytime I was sad you just stood or laid right by my side until you felt like I was all right. You were the weirdest dog I think anyone has ever met, but weird in a good way - full of love, quirky personality, and endless laughs. You were my baby, and nothing can ever replace you. I don't think I've loved anything in this world as much as I love you. I wish we didn't have to let you go, but looking back on your condition I know that we did the right thing, no matter how hard it was and still is. I miss you every day - even the little things like picking up your poo, giving you baths, taking you to get your nails trimmed, car rides.... all of it. Thank you for what you contributed to my life, Sally. <3

I miss waking up to this.

I miss that silly hockey hoodie I bought for you on a whim. You'd get mad at me every time I took it off you to wash it and give you a bath. I also miss the funny looks I'd catch when I took pictures of you. You look like you're pouting in this one.

I miss bathing you. You were so especially tiny and cute when you were wet.

This is my first ever memory of our new house. As soon as we'd moved everything into the house and brought you over, you ran around sniffing everything for a minute, then you found the first patch of sun you could and plopped down and took a nap.

"Mom, I hate you."

Seeing you smile in your sleep melts my heart.
I love you.

Ghoul's Night Out

Nikki & I have been planning our Halloween party, and our Ghoul's Night Out and I'm so excited!

Etsy

I've got to stay away from this site... when I get on it, I'm on it for hours. Which, I guess is okay when there's not a damn thing to do at work but stare. It totally makes me want to be crafty again, I've really been sucking at that for a while. Our poor house, it's slowly coming together, but I really need to get with it. I want my bathroom (since we've got 3) to basically be a vintage beauty extravaganza. I could wallpaper that bathroom in vintage beauty/pinup/gypsy/etc girl stuff.

This week...

...you're wriggling, shifting, and dancing already! You're already fascinated by everything you can lay your fingers on, you can make a tiny fist, and suck your thumb already! You can make all sorts of facial movements, including frowning, swallowing motions, and moving your tiny tongue around. I already love you SO much!

Autumn

Welcome! <3
Oh, how I've missed you.

Boston, Part 4

We got back from Boston a week ago, and I'm already missing it so badly. I just thought I'd post some of my favorite pictures...

Aaron, Brandon, Jacques & I at the end of the Patriots/Bills game at Gillette Stadium.

Our annual Pats picture... this is our 4th year going to Boston/Patriots games.

This sums up everyone's reaction at the end of that game.

Wes Welker!

Brandon, me, Jacques, & Aaron at the Red Sox/Rays game. BORING. We were all so bummed haha. Also, hello crappy red-eye fix job...

Some Christian Church of Science in downtown Boston. "Christian Church of Science" just screams confusing to me.

Jacques' salmon dinner at the Union Oyster House.

Samuel Adams at Quincy Market.

This is how the weather was the first two days we were there. Not so bad to walk around in, though.

Mike's Pastry: World famous (and incredibly delicious) cannoli and hot chocolate!

We went to some lame sports museum in The Garden, and were lucky enough to see 3 of the Bruins practicing.

Patriots Hall of Fame/Museum. I miss this dude.

The Lombardi Trophies

Drew Bledsoe's x-ray. This is when Tom Brady took over...
